05 Feb Motivational Workshops in Bulgaria

In the last months of 2019 Center for Sustainable Communities Development (CSCD) organized 7 RAISE Youth motivational workshops. The CSCD team met 32 young NEETs from Pernik region. 70% of the group were women and 25% were representatives of the Roma community.

Most of the young people had primary or secondary education; they were interested in various types of educational courses. Most of them wanted to attend small and medium business management (9 people) and IT development and online store management (14). There were also enthusiasts about a course in tourism management (10). There were fewer applicants for herbal (4) and farming development (4). Some of the NEETs were also interested in local crafts such as pottery (6), as well as beekeeping (4) and training for mountain guides (6).

The next step for the CSCD team is to assemble groups and organize courses according to the demonstrated interests.  Center for Sustainable Communities Development is also exploring new approaches to reach more NEETs and to achieve further progress in motivation of these unemployed young people.
